The Repair Process

A picture is worth a thousand words. And to an insurance company or anyone that has to pay for work to be done, a picture can speak volumes. In order for us to provide proof  that we perform all the operations it takes to complete a quality repair, documentation is key. A good digital picture contains all the information needed to outline an automotive repair. It also provides a detailed look into all the steps it takes to achieve the results we are striving for.

2010 Hyundai Genesis

Right-side Quarter Panel and Door Damage

This was an insurance claim so we had to make sure we had photos of almost every operation we had to perform. It is very time consuming, but has become pretty standard in the industry today. And I find that many customers are very interested in becoming more familiar with the vehicle they rely on. So the documentation effort we put forth is a win for everyone.

Although this kind of repair is pretty common, it poses many problems for the technician. In modern designs you have to be aware of srs systems (airbags) in the pillar and sealers and sound deadeners in most every joint.

2008 Honda Accord Exl

Rear Ended

There was a lot more photos of this job. Only about 1/3 are shown here. Not everyone can handle the sight of their car stripped down to the structure. Some show obvious concern. I can imagine that the owners are wondering if the vehicle will ever be the same. We here at Overton Auto Body L.L.C. can get their vehicle back to it's original condition. And we only know one way to get it done, the right way!

Fortunately this one had minimal structural damage and was new enough to have good value. Because Honda parts are expensive! Then again Hondas retain their value much better than most cars. What really matters to us is that the customer was satisfied with the results.

2004 Toyota Camry XLE

Driver-side door and fender

The driver door shell had to be replaced along wih the fender. The door does not appear to be badly damaged. The problem was the structure of the door was affected. In many cases we can skin off the exterior panel and repair the door frame, then apply a new skin.

Cost effectiveness is a commonly used term. Often we find that replacing an assembly can be less expensive than repairing parts. It is important for us to do our research to determine the most cost effective method of repair without compromising the quality of work to the vehicle.
